54th ‘Vijay Diwas’

Sudarshan Chakra Corps celebrated the 54th ‘Vijay Diwas’ to commemorate the glorious victory over Pakistan during Indo-Pak war, in 1971. On this occasion, a solemn wreath laying ceremony was organised at Sudarshan Chakra War Memorial. Lieutenant General Arvind Chauhan YSM, SM GOC 21 Corps alongwith Veterans laid the wreath to honour the brave heroes of the Indian Army.

Vijay Diwas is celebrated on 16 December every year to mark the victory of Indian Army, wherein the Chief of Eastern Pakistan forces, Lieutenant General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi alongwith 93,000 Pakistani Soldiers, surrendered before the Indian Army.
This day is also celebrated to pay homage to the Soldiers of Indian Army, who have dedicated their life towards the the safety and security of our Nation.
