A one-day training programme for police officials engaged in passport police verification was organised by the Passport Office, Bhopal on 31 January 2026 at the Regional Passport Office, Arera Hills, Bhopal. The programme was attended by more than 100 police officers and officials from all 55 districts of Madhya Pradesh.
The programme was jointly organized by Regional Passport Office Bhopal and MP Police and graced by Shri A. Sai Manohar, Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) as the Chief Guest along with Shri Hari Narayan Chari Mishra, IG (SCRB), Headquarters, MP Police, Shri Anshuman Singh, IG (Law & Order and Security), MP Police, Shri Shitanshu Chaurasiya, Regional Passport Officer, Bhopal , Ms. Sonakshi Saxena, DCP (Intelligence), Bhopal, MP Police and other senior officers from the Passport Office and MP Police have also participated in the programme.
During his address, Shri Shitanshu Chaurasiya, Regional Passport Officer, Bhopal, thanked Madhya Pradesh Police for jointly organising the programme. He also presented the district-wise performance of passport police verifications and emphasized the effective use of the M-Police App for passport verification.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Shri A. Sai Manohar, stressed the importance of timely disposal of passport police verifications and urged all concerned officers to strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) formulated by Madhya Pradesh Police for passport police verification. He emphasized that strict compliance with the SOP would ensure timely disposal of applications without causing undue hardship to passport applicants.
2025 has been an unprecedented year for Passport Office and MP Police , wherein a major milestone of 3.16 lakhs passport applications is achieved and Madhya Pradesh Police received two awards in the year 2025 from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, in recognition of its excellent performance in the timely disposal of passport police verifications
On the occasion, awards were presented to top-performing districts and police stations based on timely disposal of Police Verification Reports. Among the districts, Umaria and Dindori were awarded First and Second positions respectively for achieving 100% timely disposal of PVRs within 15 days. Satna, Shivpuri and Tikamgarh districts were also awarded for achieving more than 99% timely disposal of PVRs within 15 days.
Awards were also conferred upon top police stations based on the volume of passport police verification cases handled by them.

- Manik Chowk Police Station, Ratlam in 2000–3000 PV applications,
- City Kotwali Police Station, Satna in 1000–2000 PV applications,
- Shivpuri Kotwali Police Station, Shivpuri in 500–1000 PV applications,
- Rajod Police Station, Dhar in 100–500 PV applications)
The training workshop included detailed sessions on passport police verification procedures, citizenship-related provisions, and the use of the M-Police App, aimed at enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and coordination in passport verification processes.
