A total of 1,707,301 pilgrims successfully performed the sacred Hajj pilgrimage during Hajj 2026 held in Saudi Arabia. This year, millions of pilgrims from 165 countries participated in the pilgrimage and completed all the rituals of Hajj in a deeply spiritual atmosphere.
According to the released figures, out of the total pilgrims, 1,546,655 arrived from abroad, while 160,646 pilgrims participated from within Saudi Arabia. Among the pilgrims, 893,396 were men and 813,905 were women.
Air travel remained the primary mode of transportation for pilgrims. A total of 1,485,729 pilgrims arrived by air, while 54,429 travelled by road and 6,497 pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia by sea.
A large number of pilgrims from India also performed the sacred pilgrimage this year. Through the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, and the Haj Committee of India, nearly 175,000 Indian pilgrims undertook Hajj. Comprehensive and well-organized arrangements were made for Indian pilgrims, including accommodation, transportation, healthcare services, food, guidance, and other essential facilities, which were widely appreciated by the pilgrims.
The Haj Committee of India ensured smooth flight operations from various embarkation points across the country for the convenience of pilgrims. Special teams, medical missions, help desks, and volunteers continuously assisted Indian pilgrims in Makkah, Madinah, Mina, and Arafat. Indian pilgrims expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and described them as efficient and well-managed.
Under the Saudi government’s “Route to Makkah” initiative, special facilities were provided to 388,694 pilgrims this year. A total of 441,049 personnel and 26,701 volunteers played an important role in the successful management of the Hajj operations.
The Saudi administration made special efforts to ensure that the Hajj pilgrimage remained safe, organized, and convenient through the use of modern technology, excellent management, and extensive arrangements. Pilgrims from around the world praised the facilities and described the season as a highly successful Hajj experience.
